Nigel Staples - Director
Nigel established Cressida in late 2002 as a non-bank commercial property financier. In a crowded market at the time Cressida had two key differences, it was privately funded and only wrote first mortgage backed loans. As a result Cressida was one of the few New Zealand non-bank lenders to successfully navigate the Global Financial Crisis and has continued to expand its market offering and capability since then. Nigel appreciates working with a professional and service orientated team to grow the Cressida brand and broaden the many strong and enduring relationships enjoyed across the finance sector. Nigel holds a BA/Bcom from Auckland University and was a Chartered Accountant in a former life.
Bruce McGhie - Business Development
Bruce has BCom Honours degree in financial analysis and portfolio management from the university of Cape Town. In the earlier part of his career he worked at Standard Bank and BoE (South Africa) in commercial banking and property finance. He moved to NZ in 2002 and since this time has been active in property finance across the full spectrum of mortgage lending.
Marty Shepherd - Business Development
Marty has extensive property and lending experience from a variety of financial services roles for over 20 years.
He is a very well known in the NZ Mortgage Adviser community with relationships which stem back to his first non bank lending role in the mid 1990’s.
Prior to his involvement with Cressida Marty has held senior business development/management roles within the financial services industry and also enjoyed his time working as a successful Financial Adviser.
Marty more than most understands the challenges faced by Advisers and their clients in the non bank lending environment and uses his experience to ensure best practice outcomes for everyone.
Warren Law - Business Development
Warren has considerable experience in the Auckland property finance market. Prior to joining Cressida, Warren worked at ANZ in various Relationship Management roles including Property Construction Finance and Commercial Recoveries prior to doing some contract work within a specialist property finance brokerage. During this time he has sourced funding for multi-staged subdivisions, apartment construction and commercial investments.
Warren holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University and is proficient in mandarin (his second language).
Outside of work, Warren is a competitive tennis player and spends weekends with his young family.
David Morris - Portfolio Manager
David joined Cressida Capital in April 2007 after working for 15 years at various banking institutions both here in NZ and in Australia within their business banking and high value client divisions.
David’s primary role at Cressida is in the areas of credit and portfolio risk management.
He graduated from Lincoln University in the early 1990’s with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Commerce.
Graeme Clark - Solicitor
Graeme has been with Cressida as in-house counsel since 2005. He has had almost 40 years’ experience as a solicitor with his main focus being on property, finance and commercial law. He is a graduate of Otago University and has practised as a solicitor in both NZ and England. Prior to coming to Cressida he was a partner based in the London office of a multi-national law firm.
Lesley Cork - Legal Executive
Lesley joined Cressida Capital in 2010 after a number of years working for various well regarded Auckland law firms. Lesley is a qualified legal executive having completed the New Zealand Diploma in Legal Executive Studies in 2010
Andy Kilgallon - Financial Controller
Andy is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales since 2000. He began his career as an auditor with KPMG followed by 6 years at a FTSE 50 property group in London. Since his arrival in New Zealand in 2010 he has worked for a global property consultancy firm prior to joining Cressida in 2012.
